War Memorial Building Legislative Plaza Downtown Nashville [2020]
I recently had the chance to do some location scouting in the downtown Nashville area for a fashion shoot that would take place around iconic buildings in the area.
One of the photoshoot's goals was to feature Nashville in the backdrop, display the spectacular historical buildings, and showcase Nashville, Tennessee's culture.
The photoshoot's fashion designs were done by Johnathan Kayne, a world-renowned fashion designer who resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
As a part of any fashion photoshoot or any production, you need to scout the area and document the possible shoot locations and architect backgrounds.
The area around the Nashville Tennessee State Capitol offers many possibilities for doing movie productions and photoshoots.
As a real estate photographer in the Nashville Tennessee area, I have come to appreciate the historical values in the area.
I hope you can enjoy the blog about the downtown Nashville Capital area, and you can take many beautiful walks in ancient places.

Nashville War Memorial Statue
"Youth" is the name of the heroic statue which stands in the center of the courtyard.
He is holding a Nike in his open left palm, symbolizing victory in the war.
It's a classical warrior statue, nude except for sandals, a helmet, and a cloth that drapes around his proper left hip and loins. He holds a sword and wreath in his proper right hand. His right arm has draped cloth. He holds a small female figure of Nike in the palm of his proper left hand, outstretched. His proper left leg is bent and rests on the part of a ship's hull. The sculpture rests on a simple rectangular granite base with a stepped bottom." - Smithsonian Art Inventory
The monumental bronze statue stands on a granite base inscribed:
"MEMORY OF THE SONS OF TENNESSEE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR, 1914-1918"
Belle Kinney Scholz was the sculptor of the statue. Moreover, she also created the Confederate Women's Monument at the southwest location of the building.

The Tennessee State Capitol, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is the seat of government for the U.S. State of Tennessee. It serves as the home of the Tennessee General Assembly and the location of the governor's office.
National Historic Landmark, the Tennessee State Capitol, is on the highest hill to in central Nashville.
Created in the Greek Revival Style, the architect was William Strickland from Philadelphia, PA. Built with Tennessee limestone, the building employs the Ionic and Corinthian orders, the two most highly regarded in Greek architecture.
To match the elegance of the exterior, Strickland made extensive use of the interior of cast iron, a savant grade building material of the 1840s, as seen in the highly decorative spiral staircase and library balconies.
In Capitol Hill, there are other monuments including the tomb of President and Mrs. James K. Polk, an equestrian statue of President Andrew Jackson by Clark Mills, monuments to Civil War hero Sam Davis and World War I hero Alvin York, and six cedar trees planted to commemorate the six million Jews who died as a result of the Holocaust.
